As one of the leading Off-Highway tire manufacturers worldwide, BKT has been able to find solutions even for the most demanding and toughest operating conditions in recycling applications by means of specially designed products for loaders and material-handling machinery. This sector and any related application areas appear to be fairly interesting in terms of tires that are subject to severe strain. Not only do they have to meet the requirements as far as resistance and durability are concerned, but they must also offer stability to the equipment and thus a certain level of comfort to the operator.
At CONEXPO-CON/AGG, BKT will be showcasing the Earthmax product family, which has been growing to meet demanding user requirements. These BKT tires are designed for the purpose of favoring best load distribution on the ground when fitted on dumpers, wheeled loaders, dozers, or graders.
Tires are critical components of off-the-road (OTR) vehicles and serve several functions that affect the productivity of your equipment and subsequently affect your bottom line. They support the load of the vehicle by retaining the inflation pressure, provide traction and braking, control the direction of travel, absorb road shocks to smooth the ride (on most OTR equipment, the tires are the only suspension for the equipment), and overcome road hazards.
How to minimize the effects of mismatched tires on loaders, articulated dump trucks, rigid haul trucks, motor graders, scrapers and other pneumatic-tired equipment
Tire wear results in changes to the outside diameter (OD) of each tire. As a result of this wear, tires can become mismatched (i.e. they do not have the same OD) and this can lead to accelerated tire wear and equipment damage.
BKT recently launched the Earthmax SR47 OTR tire for the global construction market, specially designed for haul truck applications in hard rock environments. The SR47 provides efficiency and longer-lasting performance in harsh operating conditions on hard rock sites.
