Radius HDD and American Augers, both Charles Machine Works Companies, have announced a partnership that will allow Radius HDD to warehouse American Augers sections and cutter heads in its Weatherford, Texas, facility. The move is in response to the tremendous amount of underground construction work being done in the Lone Star State.
Installation of underground infrastructure has become more challenging in today's sprawling urban centres. For many types of utility and service, the need to dig under existing roads, buildings and other obstructions has brought a growing interest in horizontal directional drilling.
American Augers/Trencor, a Charles Machine Works company, has released the first large-scale upgrade to its proven 1400-series trencher line since its introduction. The new T14-54/617 trencher features a Tier 4 Final emissions compliant engine, state-of-the-art electronics and customer-requested features.
LaValley Industries has entered into a strategic alliance with American Augers to distribute the TONGHAND exit side wrench and DECKHAND pipe handling system specifically configured for loading and unloading drill pipe in HDD applications. These additions complement the American Augers product line of pipeline equipment, which includes maxi-sized horizontal directional drills, drilling fluid reclaimers, pumps and trenchers.
Pipeline and utility contractors attending the 2017 International Utility and Construction Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) in Louisville, Kentucky, were first to see the newly released American Augers M-300D HDD fluid cleaning system. Based on American Augers' successful, highly portable M-200 platform, the M-300 system's small trailer size lowers registration and excise tax requirements while supporting any make of 60- to 100-ton drill unit with a true 300 gpm fluid-cleaning capability.
The American Augers DD-240T Midi Rig introduced a whole new design concept in horizontal direction drills to the 2017 International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE). Many of the features that make the 240,000-pound class HDD rig fully configurable are industry firsts in direct response to HDD contractor input gathered by American Augers in an extensive industry survey.
The M-200D mud recycler's predominate feature is the use of a Derrick 503 single shaker. Using a single shaker reduces the system size while providing plenty of screen area for outstanding performance.
