Spend more time drilling and less time managing fluid with American Augers’ new cleaning system
Designed for 20,000- to 120,000-pound drills, the M150D simplifies fluid handling while reducing downtime

The new M150D Fluid Cleaning System from American Augers ensures that HDD contractors can spend more time drilling and less time managing fluid. The M150D delivers cleaning performance in a compact system engineered to address a persistent challenge in underground construction: fluid management.
As HDD job sites become more constrained and project demands continue to grow, contractors need fluid management equipment that offers reliable cleaning capability without adding complexity. Built to pair with 20,000- to 120,000-pound drills, the M150D fills a long-standing gap in the utility HDD market by bringing American Augers' proven fluid cleaning expertise to a smaller, more mobile platform. The system helps reduce downtime and improve project efficiency without requiring additional support equipment or contributing to congestion.
Save time on teardown and setup with a simplified frame
The machine's simple setup and teardown reduce downtime and help crews get to work faster. The unit transports its own fluid, eliminating the need for additional fluid trucks and minimizing equipment requirements on site. Crews spend less time stopping for water, remixing drilling fluid, or hauling away spoils, allowing them to stay focused on completing the bore. On-demand mixing is made reliable with mechanical agitation, while the oversized Derrick shaker provides efficient separation in a compact system, as finer screens remove more solids before fluid reaches the tank, helping maintain cleaner drilling fluid throughout the drilling process.
With mobility and productivity, the M150D helps crews meet tough deadlines with confidence and precision. Its compact footprint and self-contained design help crews maximize available space without compromising cleaning capability throughout utility HDD operations.
"Utility contractors have been asking for a compact fluid cleaning system that delivers the same level of cleaning performance as larger systems without the added size, setup time or complexity," said Richard Levings, product manager for American Augers. "Instead of scaling down an existing cleaner, we built the M150D around the way utility contractors actually work. That allowed us to create a system that keeps crews drilling longer instead of stopping to manage drilling fluid."
