In designing the new upper-end Class 6 FK260, Mitsubishi Fuso engineers have added a new 253.9-in. wheelbase that will accommodate bodies up to 30 feet long. The FK260 is powered by a completely rebuildable Fuso 6M60 7.5L (460 cubic-inch) in-line SOHC 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that generates 243 hp and 514 lb-ft of torque. Power is carried to the wheels through an Allison 2200 RDS electronic 5-speed OD automatic transmission, which is standard. A Mitsubishi 6-speed OD manual transmission is available as an option.
