Clean, dry heat in extreme conditions
The Arctic Bear HD indirect-fired heater is designed to run 24/7, and features a 100 percent stainless-steel firebox and heat exchanger.

The Arctic Bear HD’s heat output of 430,000 to 770,000 BTU/hr varies with outdoor ambient air temperature, with a maximum temperature rise of 240 degrees F. Airflow rates vary with ambient air temperature and duct type diameter and length. The three hp backward-inclined, electric-powered centrifugal blower typically operates in the 3,300 to 4,000 cfm range, and at four inches water column static pressure.

These units offer three fuel options: diesel, natural gas or propane, and two optional on-board diesel fuel tanks are available (125 gallons each for a total capacity of 250 gallons). Additionally, the heater is offered with an optional 5.5 kW, 2,800 rpm liquid-cooled Onan generator.

The Arctic Bear HD is available with unique Ground Heaters Dura-Gen technology using EMP’s Oil Mate oil management system. Attached to the optional Onan generator, the system removes a small amount of used engine oil and blends it with diesel fuel to be burned during combustion. The used oil is then replaced with an equal amount of fresh oil from a makeup tank. The result is a machine that requires no oil changes, and the filter only needs to be changed every 1,000 hours – significantly decreasing downtime and lengthening the engine’s life.
