Telescoping-boom excavator has on- and off-road mobility
Gradall’s job-proven, tilting, telescoping boom creates a low working profile, enabling the 166-hp, 45,000-pound-class XL 4300-II to work in places where a conventional knuckle boom cannot – under bridges, beneath tree limbs or in tunnels. Consistent boom power is achieved with the telescoping action, unlike conventional knuckle booms, which cannot maintain constant power throughout the full digging cycle. Maximum digging depth for the Model XL 4300-II is 20 feet, 11 inches (6.4 m), while boom radius at groundline is 30 feet (9.1 m). The rated boom force is 22,075 pounds (98.2 kN). Bucket breakout force is 25,449 pounds (113.2 kN). A range of attachments and boom extensions, including a Gradall Telestick, are available.
