ImageDeep launches AI-powered safety alarm camera for remote sites

The solar-powered unit can be deployed in minutes to protect remote mining and quarry sites and areas with no power or internet

ImageDeep, the company behind the Scopis AI human-verified security platform, launched Houndlight, an install-anywhere safety alarm camera built for the sites that are hardest to protect: remote mining and quarry sites, aggregate stockpiles, plant yards, large open farm sites, equipment yards, grain stores, livestock areas, well pads, pipelines, compressor stations, solar and wind farms, logistics yards, trailer parking, and other remote locations with no mains power or internet.

Remote safety alarms are needed to deter theft on remote sites

Theft and trespass on remote sites often go unseen until the next day. Conventional CCTV requires power and a network connection. Staffed security is usually too costly for sites that sit empty overnight or for short-term field operations.

Houndlight combines solar power, 4G connectivity, on-device AI, and automatic light, siren, and voice warning in one unit. It was designed in-house around three goals: very low power use, high on-device AI accuracy, and instant deterrence.

Multiple Houndlight units can be armed or disarmed together and grouped into zones through the Scopis AI platform. This gives operators a simple way to control security across large or multi-location sites without visiting each camera. Groups can cover entire yards, pipeline corridors, farm sections, or temporary works areas, and the status of every unit is visible in one place.

Key features:

  • Solar- and battery-powered, runs for days without grid power
  • 4G connected, needs no Wi-Fi or cabling
  • On-device AI detects people and vehicles day and night with low false alerts
  • Built-in light beacon, siren, and voice warning activate automatically on detection
  • Alerts go to a phone, with optional human-verified monitoring from ImageDeep's 24-hour operators
  • Mounts on a pole, wall, or temporary post and can be moved as the site changes
  • Multiple units can be armed, disarmed and grouped by zone through the Scopis AI platform

Available in Canada, the U.S., the E.U., the U.K., Southeast Asia, and Australia. Distribution partners are currently being recruited.

"Most site theft happens where there is no power, no internet, and nobody watching," said Niall Dorr, founder of ImageDeep. "Houndlight brings the AI we built for large contractors to any remote farm, yard, well pad, quarry, or energy site. It sees the intruder, warns them off, and tells you. You can put it up in an afternoon. With Scopis AI, you can also group and control many units across a wide area from one place."
