Vermeer’s newest utility locator finds electrical faults with precision
The Verifier G3+ FLX locator allows technicians to pinpoint the exact location of underground cable faults

Vermeer enhances its utility locator portfolio with the introduction of the Vermeer Verifier G3+ FLX locator, combining precision cable location capabilities with fault-finding technology to deliver a new solution for utility professionals.
Enhancements in utility location technology
The Verifier G3+ FLX locator represents a significant advancement in utility location technology, primarily designed for power companies and utility professionals who need to identify and locate electrical faults with exceptional precision. By integrating the A-frame accessory (included standard with every unit), technicians can pinpoint the exact location of underground cable faults to within 2 inches to 3 inches (5.1 cm to 7.6 cm) of accuracy.
The new locator builds upon the foundation of the McLaughlin Vision FLX2, with substantial enhancements from the G3+ platform, including comprehensive GPS mapping functionality, remote control capability, current direction functionality, and ambient noise detection.
What makes the Verifier G3+ FLX locator particularly valuable is its versatility. Beyond its specialized fault-finding capabilities, it delivers full functionality as a standard utility locator — creating a versatile two-in-one solution that eliminates the need for multiple devices in the field.
Additional features on the Verifier G3+ FLX
The Verifier G3+ FLX includes a transmitter with specialized frequencies optimized for fault finding applications and higher wattage output compared to the current G3+ model. This elevated power output is crucial for pushing more current through damaged lines, enabling operators to successfully trace and pinpoint faults even when cables exhibit significant damage.
The innovative A-frame accessory provides a sophisticated approach to fault detection through differential current measurement. The device precisely measures the electrical current differential between its front leg (point A) and back leg (point B), allowing technicians to systematically narrow down the precise fault position with remarkable accuracy.
The Verifier G3+ FLX pairs with smartphones using the G3+ Map mobile app to plot location information, including depth, current index, GPS data, utility type, device name, and operator information. This data-capturing ability allows contractors and utility owners to effectively document and manage information about underground infrastructure.
Like all Vermeer utility locators, the Verifier G3+ FLX comes with comprehensive 3-year coverage that includes water damage protection.
