Productivity is the focus for SBM as it prepares for Hillhead 2024, with three crushers to be on display including the flagship REMAX 600 impact crusher.

SBM is focused on sophisticated diesel-electric drive availability on its mobile machines, and especially larger machines. The REMAX 600 features this capability, with power coming from a Cummins Stage V-certified diesel engine and a 520 kVA generator or, as an option, fully electric operation when plugged into mains power.

The consistent integration of diesel/generator combinations and the extensive electrification of all drives like screens and conveyors, as well as essential hydraulic components (crusher adjustment, crawler drive, lifting cylinders), results in compact transport dimensions and weights, ensuring easy one-piece lowbed transport and fast set-up times on site. In terms of feed size and screening equipment,

With an inlet opening of 1,380 x 1,000 mm, the REMAX 600 can produce up to 600 tph. It has a complete package of standard equipment plus options that can provide a variety of high-quality final aggregate fractions. In addition to standard pre-screening via a double-deck circular vibratory screen, there are three optional secondary circular vibratory product screens (1, 2, and 3-deck), all of which can facilitate the recirculation of oversized material, as well as highly cantilevered discharge conveyors for large product stockpiles. The plant can be transported in one piece and set up quickly in approximately 45 minutes without auxiliary equipment.

Plug-in switching and system functions are managed by SBM CRUSH CONTROL, which integrates AI-based real-time analyses and satellite-based data exchange, actively supporting the operator for uninterrupted one-man operation. CRUSH CONTROL is also at the heart of SBM's Autonomous Crushing project.

Also on display will be the JAWMAX 450 jaw crusher, a universal, mobile 450-tph solution for raw materials and recycling. A jaw crusher with high crushing force, a large feed opening, and crushing gap adjustment under load, the JAWMAX 450 also uses CRUSH CONTROL with automatic foreign object detection and overload protection to improve availability. A 7-cubic-metre feed hopper and active double-deck circular vibrating pre-screen with triple flap chute controlling the discharge/bypass or blend of the screen fine fractions combine to help reduce crusher wear and increase output.

The JAWMAX 450 is also equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid drive with plug-in power option.

The REMAX 450 impact crusher features an innovative active pre-screening solution that optimizes performance of the crusher for feed sizes up to 1,000 mm. Generously dimensioned transfers and conveyors allow for trouble-free production. An 8-cubic-metre hopper, large stockpile capacity, and standard multi-function remote control are all available on a machine that can be efficiently operated by one person from an excavator or wheel loader.

"For the first time, the Quarry Show is more than just an important away game for us. We have been working very successfully with our distribution partners Banner Equipment and Orba Group for almost two years now and can now prepare even better for the industry highlight," explains SBM Area Sales Manager Norbert Dieplinger. "Within a short period of time, the strong dealer commitment has not only given us a high level of national awareness in all parts of the country, further we have also reached all the industries relevant to us - from quarries and recycling specialists to construction companies using our fully hybrid crushing technology on site."
