Hyundai adds Equipements Marquis to North American dealership network

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America has added Equipements Marquis of Sherbrooke, Quebec, to its North American dealer network.

The dealership will represent the full line of Hyundai construction equipment products throughout the southeastern corner of Quebec known as the Eastern Townships.

Jean-Guy Marquis founded Equipements Marquis in 1992. The company quickly transformed from its beginnings as a manufacturer and distributor of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment into a construction and forestry equipment dealership. Marquis continues as the company's president and principal owner. Co-owners are Christian Corriveau, Steven Marquis, and Sales Director Tom Fredette. 

"The ongoing growth of Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships has created opportunities for us in infrastructure development and large construction projects," said Fredette. "Now that we are a Hyundai dealership, we can compete in every market segment that uses heavy-duty earthmoving equipment." 

Fredette said that Hyundai's technology, manufacturing quality, and support and training programs provide an advantage to Equipements Marquis. The 25-employee company includes eight full-time mechanics and two road-service units.

As to specifics of the Hyundai product line, Fredette said the dealership is already seeing demand for the HL955A wheel loader and HX220AL excavator. "The HL955A is a great choice for many of our customers' snow-removal needs, as well as being a tough, versatile wheel loader," he said. "And with our long-time focus on the forestry industry, we're excited to be selling the specialty forestry equipment that Hyundai offers."
