Customers renting lift equipment will be able to make use of a new Inspections app from MYCRANE to improve their level of confidence in the machines they are hiring.

Available through the Apple or Android stores, the free MYCRANE Inspections App is intended to help prevent fraud and reduce risk by digitalizing the crane rental inspection process. The app uses artificial intelligence to verify data like crane location as well as the authenticity of registration documents.

Push notifications from the app allow customers to upload images of the crane as well as key data about the crane. Uploads can only be done using live image and video recording, and the app includes fraud detection and recognition as a key feature.

MYCRANE says the app is particularly useful where clients impose the maximum age and condition of equipment, or where clients have specific inspection requirements.

Anyone with a smartphone can make use of the app, which does not require specialist knowledge. Customers can use the app to review equipment condition before making an order.

"Our new App . . . offers a high level of transparency for our customers, reassuring them that the proposed equipment is as described, and helping to minimize disputes," says Andrei Geikalo, founder and CEO of MYCRANE. "Crane rental providers will also find the Inspections App useful. In the case of bare rentals, for instance, our App may provide proof of discrepancies between the outgoing inspections and incoming inspections when the equipment is confirmed off-rent and being returned to the crane provider, because it will be so simple to verify the condition of the equipment."

Crane owners registering with MYCRANE will be able to use the Inspections App to create their own fleet listings as well. Those who have verified the status and condition of their fleet will be highlighted to customers of the MYCRANE rental tool, as a further indication of quality. And, with one click, crane rental providers will be able to use the MYCRANE Marketplace with all the supporting images in place to sell their equipment.
