John Deere to show new wheel loader with obstacle intelligence features at World of Asphalt 2022

John Deere will showcase the 904 P-Tier wheel loader for the first time at World of Asphalt and AGG1. The 904 P-Tier is a two-pass loader that can take on processed aggregate stockpiles and load trucks or rail cars.

The 904 P-Tier offers obstacle intelligence features, such as the Advanced Vision System. This allows increased visibility to the sides of the machine by integrating two digital cameras on the rearview mirror platform and combining views into a dedicated single display in the cab. The 904 P-Tier also offers an improved rear object detection system. This feature overlays a projected vehicle reversible path within the same dedicated monitor, enhancing the operator's experience and situational awareness.

The 904 P-Tier comes equipped with 7.5- and 7.1-cubic meter (9.8- and 9.3-cubic yard) material-handling buckets with integrated spill guards and curved side cutters and seat-mounted hydraulic controls. Axles with standard axle cooling filtration deliver more durability compared to previous models. With fuel-efficient engines, lockup torque converters, and a dedicated steering pump, operators can burn less fuel.

Luke Gribble, solutions and marketing manager at John Deere Construction & Forestry, says that the 904 P-Tier wheel loader was manufactured using the accomplishments of John Deere's 844L aggregate handler. The new machine improved several aspects of the machine like horsepower, hydraulic pressure, bucket size, and breakout force. Gribble also says that the machine was built for all the requirements of the aggregates industry.

In addition, the 904 P-Tier is JDLink compatible, providing real-time machine data and alerts, leveraging a suite of dealer and factory tools, uptime, and lower daily operating costs. JDLink is now available without a subscription and at no cost.

The 904 P-Tier wheel loader will be available in 2022.
