Alliance Concrete Pumps aligns with Freightliner M2 106

Alliance Concrete Pumps has been manufacturing concrete pumps for the U.S. and Canadian markets for more than a decade. The company was founded shortly after industry veterans Ken Friesen, president, and Mike Enns, national sales manager, discussed the possibility of a new business that would distribute South Korea–based Jun Jin Concrete Pumps in North America. Enns had worked with Jun Jin for two years prior to the decision to launch Alliance Concrete Pumps. Friesen, owner of a large construction business, was excited by the potential of a new business related to the manufacturing of concrete pumps and partnering with Jun Jin.

Fast forward 12 years and 50 employees later, and Alliance Concrete Pumps is booming. Specializing in providing concrete trucks for bridges, high-rise buildings and gas plants, the company has a mixed portfolio of residential, commercial and industrial projects.

“What I love the most about this job is that no two sites are the same. That can be intimidating at times, but it keeps things interesting,” said Enns. “The Freightliner M2 models are some of my favourite trucks. The M2 106 will fit just about anywhere, and it’s versatile. We need our truck to be reliable and get the job done correctly the first time, and that’s what the M2 106 delivers.”

Alliances’ 47Meter RZ Boom comes equipped with an extremely user friendly split-panel electrical system. The smaller switch panel at the rear of the pump eliminates long wiring looms that deteriorate over time. Freightliner trucks also come equipped with an adaptive hydraulic system with manual overrides, which offers confidence to get the job done, even in challenging situations. In the event of an electrical malfunction, the entire system can continue to pump in a manual mode. The 47 Meter has a vertical reach of 46.5 metres (152 feet 7 inches) and a horizontal reach of 42.5 metres (139 feet 5 inches).

Alliance Concrete has experienced a rapid surge in demand for Freightliner trucks. Currently, 50 percent of trucks sold by the company are Freightliner, compared to only 10 percent a few years ago.

“In recent times, Freightliner has really changed the game with their maneuverability, longevity and comfort with these specialized trucks,” said Enns. “This industry is tough on trucks, and we need a reliable product that is going to withstand everything that is thrown its way.”
