Stellar Industries Introduces Largest Truck-Mounted OTR Tire Manipulator

Stellar Industries, Inc. Introduced to the industry’s the largest truck-mounted OTR tire manipulator.

The Stellar® truck-mounted tire manipulator, the TM20165, is capable of changing the largest OTR tire on the market today, the 59/80R63.

“The development of a truck-mounted tire manipulator of this magnitude is the culmination of customer consultations and industry research into the request for a better solution to handle the growing sizes in the large OTR tire market,” says Tim Davison, product manager, bodies and cranes at Stellar Industries, Inc.

The TM20165 is capable of handling tire and rim combinations weighing up to 20,000 lbs. This new tire-manipulating machine has over 24-feet of reach capability, and at this capacity also allows it to mount and dismount outside as well as inside duals without repositioning the tire manipulator truck. This feature is first of its kind. The TM20165 has a clamping span of 44” up to 165”, with continuous manipulator pad rotation and 315-degree body rotation. It comes standard with a fully proportional radio remote control system. The TM20165 has a quad stabilizer package that has a low profile and a hydraulically extendable fold over rear stabilizer set that offers ultimate stability when lifting the world’s largest mounted OTR tires.

Davison continues, “We expect customers worldwide to utilize the TM20165 to change mounted 59/80R63 tires at remote locations on a mine site, and customers are anticipating increased uptime and improved productivity from their haul truck fleet.” He concludes, “It is truly something never before achievable with a truck mounted tire manipulator.”  The TM20165 is immediately available for orders and will be available worldwide.
