Service trucks take repairs on the road

Downtime is a curse word among contractors, but the fact is that it's hard to avoid it sometimes. When a machine or truck suffers a breakdown on the job, the need to haul that asset back to the shop just means that downtime is extended.

Canada and U.S. lift industry is picking up

The first Grove TMS9000-2 truck crane to be delivered in Canada has immediately gone to work for its owners at R&D Crane Rental. The lighter, longer and stronger 115 USt unit offers a lighter carrier, a 169-foot main boom and impressive load charts.

Aluminum service body provides strength and corrosion resistance

The TMAX 30K Aluminum service body is the latest evolutionary design in the TMAX Series and combines the proven crane carrying reliability of the Stellar Torq-Isolator torsion box with its long-standing success in aluminum service bodies for superb corrosion resistance. This body is designed to serve municipal markets, contractors, rental houses, light equipment dealers and others needing a service crane that lifts 5,000 pounds or less. The TMAX 30K Aluminum body weighs over 1,300-pounds less than its heavy-duty steel counterpart, the TMAX 1, allowing for maximum payload opportunities.

Improved 23000 OTR tire service crane

Stellar Industries has developed an all-new Stellar model 23000 OTR tire service crane and the TM12154 tire manipulator. Its design was based on the proven model 28000 crane to provide maximum lifting performance and solid stability, while servicing a versatile selection of equipment in the large quarry operations, small mining facilities and other off the road tire service markets.

New 7621 and 7628 Stellar Telescopic Cranes

Stellar Industries' new 44,000 ft-lb 7621 and 7628 telescopic service cranes boast a maximum reach of 21 feet with the 7621 and 28 feet 6 inches with the 7628 using all hydraulically operated extensions. Both can lift up to 7,500 pounds at 5 feet and are equipped with the Stellar CDT system. They feature a hexagonal boom design for reduced flex and increased strength, and use a planetary winch system with a hydraulic/mechanical brake system that allows for a 60-foot-per-minute winch speed. The 7621 and 7628 feature a fully proportional, multi-function radio remote control as standard. Effective immediately, these new cranes will be replacing the inaugural Model 6620 crane and the Model 6628 crane.
The Stellar CDT (Crane Dynamics Technology) system is a proprietary collection of revolutionary, industry first features that control, power, and monitor the new cranes. The Stellar CDT equipped cranes will engage and communicate with the crane operator by using multiple sensory indicators when approaching maximum capacity. This will include the use of colored LED lights and pulsating vibrations. Some Stellar CDT systems will also allow the operator to go into a Boost Mode and operate at 118% of its normal operating capacity for a short period of time. The third revolutionary feature of the new Stellar cranes is the ability to function in safety mode when a safety feature is damaged or malfunctions.
“After ten solid years establishing ourselves and our cranes in this market, we have retired the 6620 and 6628 models and are replacing them with these enhanced Stellar CDT equipped models,” says Tim Davison, product manager, bodies and cranes. “It was a natural progression for us to introduce the 7621 and 7628 cranes, which both offer Stellar’s usual market-leading features and the new Stellar CDT Technology.” He continues, “All of these features on these new cranes will fit in nicely with the rest of our heavy-duty crane line and allow us to continue to offer our customers the most advanced and innovative telescopic cranes on the market today.”

Container carrier with rotator now available

The Stellar Extendable Container Carrier with Rotator (ECCR) boasts an 8,000-pound lifting, dumping and transporting capacity. It features extendable forks for easy pick-up and placement of containers, continuous rotation for dumping from either side, and has the ability to distribute significantly more weight to the front axle than existing Stellar or competitive models. Other features include improved visibility of rear lights, less cylinders and seal kits to maintain, and an overall heavy-duty construction.

Industry-first crane features

Stellar’s new line of telescopic service cranes equipped with Crane Dynamics Technology (CDT) have a proprietary collection of industry-first features that control, power and monitor the units. Models range from 6,000- to 14,000-pound capacities. The Stellar CDT equipped cranes will engage and communicate with the crane operator by using multiple sensory indicators when approaching maximum capacity. The control system will also allow the operator to put the crane into a boost mode and operate at nearly 120 percent of its normal operating capacity for a short period of time. Another revolutionary feature of the new Stellar cranes is the ability to function in safety mode when a safety feature is damaged or malfunctions. Other Stellar crane features continue to include all hydraulic extensions up to 28 feet, hexagonal boom design, a planetary winch with line speeds up to 60-feet per minute, and a radio remote control as standard.
