3-D stringless machine control for curb and gutter

3-D stringless machine control for curb and gutter

After years of testing, Power Curbers has announced that it now offers 3-D stringless machine control for its Power Curber 5700-C slip form curb and gutter machine. This technological breakthrough eliminates the need for setting a stringline in jobs that have been modelled in 3-D. Machine elevation and steering, which had been controlled by electronic sensors contacting a hand-placed stringline in the past, are now controlled with a total station.
Power Curbers’ networked digital control system made by MOBA accepts Leica's SmartPave 3-D controls.

“Although our customers have inquired about this technology for several years we believed it was important to thoroughly test the software before offering it to them,” says Stephen Bullock, VP Sales & Marketing. “Until we were comfortable with the ability of 3-D controls to meet customer expectations, we weren't going to make guinea pigs of our customers. Now that those questions are behind us we look forward to seeing a segment of our customer base embrace this technology. For contractors on 3-D-modelled jobs this is a great opportunity to increase production.”
