John Deere has introduced two new sizes in its family of D-Series excavators, fill-ing out the line with the compact 60D and mid-sized 85D. The new units retain the industry-leading features of the popular D-Series line. Both new excavators feature reduced tail-swing designs that allow them to rotate freely within a small radius and get closer to objects on congested jobsites. Greater maneuverability also means more productivity when working in confined spaces and around obstacles. The 85D’s swing boom allows it to dig parallel to walls and foundations. And with increased swing torque and drawbar pull, the 85D produces like a larger machine. It feels like a bigger machine as well, with a comfortable cab that features an advanced LCD monitor for following key machine functions. Other enhancements include a high-efficiency cooling system, a rugged fuel-efficient Tier III diesel, and improved serviceability. Rubber tracks are optional.
