Founded in 1991 in San Giovanni in Persiceto, in the production district of Emilia, Italy, Simex has continued ever since to develop new attachments suitable for various fields of application. Tens of patents applicable to roadworks, infrastructures and utilities, as well as for demolitions, constructions and quarrying.

From the first assembly lines, which allowed the company to do most of its processing in-house, to the new headquarters in 2003, Simex keeps on growing, becoming well-established in international markets. In the last years Simex experienced a great expansion, starting from 2019, when a spacious indoor logistics area of 7,500 m² has been opened up to ensure increased stock capacity and, as a result, shorter delivery times.

The new warehouse is just one of the latest in a series of structural implementations Simex can count on:

  • Automated vertical warehouses.
  • Boring and robotic welding stations allow Simex to improve the quality of its components, such as drums and cutting wheels, while ensuring high safety standards.
  • A new painting line, officially inaugurated in June 2022.
  • A demo area, recently been relocated, for testing and ongoing product development, simulating all fields of application.
  • Meeting rooms, offices and, in general, corporate spaces have been redesigned to create dynamic and interconnected work environments, also remotely.
  • An enhanced production department, now capable of producing up to 500 units per month during peak demand periods.

35 years of Simex cold planers

For more than 30 years, Simex has been at the forefront of the design and manufacturing of road maintenance equipment. From the first planers for compact loaders, created in 1991, to the most recent patents, Simex is the technological partner of thousands of companies, with a distribution network covering over 80 countries and the widest range of cold planers in the world, capable of satisfying any need application.

24 models of Simex road planers for widths from 250 to 2000 mm, up to 350 mm depth. With specific technical features that have made them recognizable on the market for reliability and longevity:

  • First self-leveling system launched on the market
  • Independent depth adjustment on the left and right sides
  • Water tank integrated into the side shift
  • Performer device to optimize results
  • Removable slides with cutting indicators

4 more models in the range equipped with conveyor belt, 2 specific models for soil stabilization, 4 extra models for special applications (milling under guardrails, milling at sides of rail tracks, creating rumble strips).

In 35 years, the company has become the technological partner for thousands of dealers and operators in the earthmoving industry, all over the world. The recognized reliability and engineering quality of Simex attachments reflect the commitment, passion and specific skills of hundreds of people.

ART 1000: Asphalt Repair Technology

Simex ART is a patented technology specifically designed for the regeneration of bituminous conglomerate which reuses 100% of the material present on site without removing the milled material or adding other materials.

It is used in functional road surface maintenance, at a depth varying between 30 and 60 mm. It does not disrupt traffic flow and ensures immediate road drivability. It also ensures that maintenance lasts for a reasonable amount of time, which allows local authorities to plan road maintenance, with significant benefits in terms of road user safety.

VSE: Screening Buckets with adjustable output size

Designed for separating different-sized materials on the work site, Simex VSE screening buckets are unique for their easy loading, very simple operation and high productivity. The exclusive Simex patent allows rapid adjustment of output size of the screened material in only seconds via a control in the operator cabin.

PL: Self-levelling road planers

Simex PL self-levelling road planers are designed for milling deteriorated sections for later resurfacing. Designed speci cally to remove completely the deteriorated asphalt surface.
Thanks to the exclusive self-levelling system, planing depth is constant in any condition.

RW: Self-levelling wheel saws

Specifically designed for slots and narrow trenches on hard and compact surfaces, such as asphalt and concrete, for fiber optic cable installation.
Self-leveling system: thanks to the swinging support pivoted on the same rotation axis of the drum, slides always touch the ground. Mechanical and manual depth adjustment.
Clean trench: the special design of the outlets allows trench to be cleared efficiently at the programmed depth.

TF: Double-drum cutter heads

Simex TF cutter heads are ideal for trenching, profiling rock and cement walls, tunneling, quarrying, demolition, dredging, finishing operations and underwater works. They are highly effective where conventional excavation systems are too weak and percussion systems have little effect. Their quiet operation allows them to be put to work near sensitive areas (residential zones, hospitals, schools, bridges and infrastructure). Especially recommended for finishing operations, where high precision, minimum disturbance and optimum aesthetic result are required.
