Continental introduces RDT-Master tires with cut-resistant compound for rigid dump trucks

Continental is further extending its tire portfolio for the earthmoving industry. The technology company recently launched a new compound for its RDT-Master for the use on Rigid Dump Trucks. The cut-resistant compound was developed for rough and abrasive applications where tires have to withstand sharp gravel, rocks and stones.

Continental’s tire division announces three new business unit heads

The technology company, automotive supplier and premium tire manufacturer Continental has named new members to the top management of its Tire Division. Christian Koetz now leads the global business unit Commercial Vehicle Tires, which also includes Commercial Specialty Tires. He reports in this function to Nikolai Setzer, Member of the Executive Board of Continental and Head of the Tire Division. The Head of Commercial Vehicle Tires in the Americas, Paul Williams, remains in his role and reports to Koetz. The global Head of Commercial Specialty Tires, Enno Stratten, remains in his role and reports to Koetz, and the Head of Commercial Specialty Tires for the Americas, Federico Jimenez, remains in his role and reports to Stratten.

Continental pressure monitoring now available on Geotab Marketplace

Geotab, an award-winning leader in telematics technology, today announced the availability of ContiPressureCheck by Continental on the Geotab Marketplace. Helping to lower tire maintenance costs for commercial fleets, the ContiPressureCheck tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) uses sensors mounted inside the tire to capture accurate temperature and pressure data to report tire-related issues in real-time.

Continental Tire signs collaborative agreement with Caterpillar

Continental and Caterpillar Inc. have signed an agreement to equip Cat Off-Highway-Trucks (model series 770 to 775) with Continental RDT-Master tires in sizes 18.00R33, 21.00R33 and 24.00R35. The agreement also calls for the two companies to collaborate on designing new tires for two other Cat products: Medium Wheel Loaders and Articulated Dump Trucks.
