The construction machinery operations of the Liebherr Group comprise several dedicated product divisions within the family-owned enterprise. Founded in 1949 with the invention of the mobile tower crane, the company manufactures earthmoving, material handling, deep foundation, tower crane, mobile crane, and concrete technology equipment.

The lineup includes hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders, crawler tractors, mobile and crawler cranes, foundation drilling rigs, and mobile concrete mixing plants. Liebherr utilizes vertical integration, developing key components internally — including engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, and electronics.

Operating manufacturing sites across Europe, North America, South America, and Asia, the divisions support global infrastructure projects through an international dealer and service network. R&D focuses on digital site integration, autonomous systems, dynamic load monitoring, and alternative powertrains, including hydrogen combustion engines and electric drive platforms.
