FW Murphy was the first to develop instrumentation for electronic engines when it introduced the J1939 MurphyLink system in the 1990s. Murphy has since expanded its MurphyLink system to include several levels of J1939 displays. It also includes additional products and services that can combine all aspects of modern electronic equipment into a simplified yet powerful view. Murphy also recently introduced several new products to ease the transition to electronic engines. The PowerView 1000 display is Murphy's new flagship product for J1939 monitors. The PowerView 1000 provides a single, unified view of the engine, transmission and powertrain - plus GPS data - within a large VGA LCD flatscreen with rich full-color graphics. The new version includes improvements to the interface, such as a GPS grid map with waypoint screen, custom equipment screens and an engine configuration area. Additional maintenance tools have also been added. The first PowerView 100 display allowed equipment operators to monitor several different engine, transmission, or machine parameters and service codes on a single, graphical, backlit LCD screen. The new version, called the PowerView 101 display, upgraded the core processor for better performance. Murphy also decided to take advantage of the processor change to implement customer feedback into a full upgrade with additional features.
