Hirschmann Automation and Control

Volvo has partnered with Hirschmann MCS to install the cSCALE rated capacity indicator on their PL4809E and PL3005E pipelayers. Hirschmann's cSCALE solution provides a 7" color graphic display of the pipelayer and monitors the maximum load and inclination. Sensors include angle, tilt, load pin, and anti-two block switch. An integrated datalogger / event recorder was also a requirement for the system.

Elliott Equipment Company is equipping their E145 & E190 aerial work platforms with a complete Hirschmann MCS iSCALE Control System.  The system includes the vSCALE D3 display, cSCALE S6 control unit, and various sensors including angle, tilt, pressure, wind speed, and anti-two block.  The console features a 7" color graphic display with intuitive menu navigation using function keys and rotary encoder.  This system allows the operator to view all aerial work platform information including general configuration and lifting geometry.

Hirschmann MCS is introducing a new camera indicator that can be used on all types of mobile equipment. The system provides a direct view of the application (ie: drum rotation) allowing the operator to have a constant visual of any situation.

Hirschmann's Mobile Machine Control Solutions (MCS) division is pleased to announce that Altec has begun outfitting their AC45-127S telescopic boom truck with the new Hirschmann iSCALE Control System. The Load Moment and Area Protection system, known as Altec’s LMAP system, consists of a complete Hirschmann system package which includes the vSCALE D3 display, cSCALE S6 control unit, and various sensors.

Hirschmann Automation and Control (PAT), Chambersburg, PA has awarded Crane Warning Systems Inc. of Lakeland, FL Hirschmann’s 2013 Top Sales Award for North America.  This is the fifth year in a row that Crane Warning Systems has received this award.  Eric Mowen, Hirschmann’s Retrofit Sales Manager, presented the award to Randy Dickinson of Crane Warning Systems at ConExpo in Las Vegas, NV.

Hirschmann Automation and Control (PAT), a leader in information, monitoring and control systems, will introduce several new products. The main focus will be the introduction of Hirschmann's Scalable Mobile Controller. The system was designed to control and monitor machine function as well as offering the option of load moment indication. The versatility of the system allows it to be installed on virtually any machine. This scalable approach allows it to be used in any application from monitoring standard control functions to the most complicated custom control solution. Also on display will be a new line of graphic operator consoles, which can be used with the Scalable Mobile Controller or with Hirschmann's load moment indicators (LMI). They are available in various sizes, with colour or monochrome displays available.

The display also includes an integrated bargraph which provides the operator with information on the crane’s utilization.

Crane manufacturer Madal Palfinger has installed the Hirschmann mentor LMI on their newly introduced telescopic truck crane, the BR 400 (which is the same as the Sennebogen HPC 40). The crane has a capacity of up to 40 tons and a boom length of 37.5 m. The BR 400 complements their existing truck crane line which includes the MD 300 and MD 600.

Hirschmann Automation and Control’s PSA 3/1 Programmable Switching Amplifier is an overload protection and weighing system that can be used in many applications including: EOT cranes, bridge cranes, container cranes, steel mill cranes, straddle cranes, and har-bour cranes.
