Bucket thumbs give excavators a hand
Rockland bucket thumbs give excavators the ability to efficiently handle demolition material that won’t fit in the bucket or that .is difficult to dig and load with just one machine. Rockland’s bucket thumb options include wide and narrow thumbs with solid or hydraulic strut configurations. Rockland pioneered the narrow thumb to allow the best possible grip, while reducing overall attachment weight – for better machine stability, lower cost and greater lift capacity. Wide thumbs have teeth that mesh with the bucket teeth for raking and trapping small material – actually sweeping the material into the bucket and holding it until time to dump. A solid strut thumb allows three working positions, and stores on the stick when not in use. Working without hydraulic or electric lines, the solid strut thumb is a simple solution to excavator productivity for long-term or occasional use. Hydraulic strut thumbs swing into use and out of the way quickly and easily for on-the-fly flexibility. The patented Rockland Thumb Lock prevents down drift of the hydraulic strut thumb when not in use.
