Bronto Skylift introduced its S-170 XDT truck-mounted aerial lift at the 2007 ICUEE show. The unit features the greatest horizontal outreach of any aerial device in North America, according to the company, reaching more than 115 feet, and is capable of lifting a three-person crew and equipment up to 1,400 pounds to a platform height of 170 feet.
The aerial is mounted on an International commercial chassis and folds down to a low 13-foot transport height, while the platform itself folds underneath the main boom for a transport length of just 39 feet. The total vehicle weight is approximately 58,000 pounds. The Bronto +3 advanced control system monitors the outrigger settings and platform load, and automatically keeps the platform within safe operating parameters.
