Vermeer’s D330x500 Navigator horizontal directional drill combines a powerful large rig with mobility, and ease of transport to serve a growing, large-diameter, drilling market.
A Tier 3 Caterpillar 540-hp (403kW) diesel engine powers the D330x500 – a boost of 15 hp (11 kW) over the unit’s predecessor, the D300x500. Combined with a hydrostatic hydraulic system which produces 50,000 ft-lb (67,790 Nm) of rotational torque, the D330x500 is ideal for drilling in difficult ground formations and turning large backreamers.
The D330x500 offers increased flexibility and ease of transport because it is within legal dimensions in transport mode. The D330x500 rack will accept standard oil-field drill stem up to 32 feet (9.7 m) in length and 4.5 to 6 inches (11.4 to 15.2 cm) in diameter.
