Tub grinder offers unique features
Built with many of the same features as the TG9000 tub grinder, Vermeer’s new TG7000 packages innovation and technology for large land-clearing projects and organic wood/waste processing applications.

The TG7000 uses a CAT 3412 E powerplant with twin turbocharged air-after-cooled engine. Two engine options are available: 1,000 hp (746 kW) or 860 hp (641 kW). A non-loader machine weighs approximately 73,500 pounds (27,433 kg). A machine equipped with the loader feature is also available and weighs approximately 84,500 pounds (38,409 kg). The gross weight of the TG7000 – with or without the loader –makes it suitable in any province.

The TG7000 features a self-tensioning, maintenance-free tub drive chain. The unit has an inside tub diameter of 10 feet (3 m), a depth of 56 inches (142 cm), and an 11-foot, four-inch (3.45 m) loading height.

The tub grinder also features the Duplex Drum system – a cutting system which offers optimum cutting performance with reduced maintenance. Maintenance time is reduced as a result of protection provided by the drum skin to the hammers. Eleven hammers and 22 double-bolt cutter blocks, which are components of the centre drum cylinder, are reversible and can nearly double the life of the hammer.

A one-piece continuous flow conveyor belt measuring 48 inches (122 cm) wide is part of a discharge system that handles more material with less clogging and can run at speeds up to 860 fpm (262 m/min).
