Lighter lube skid delivers contaminant-free liquids

Lighter lube skid delivers contaminant-free liquids
The new SiteStar lube skid from Iowa Mold Tooling Co., Inc. (IMT) enables mechanics truck operators to deliver oil, coolant and water to job sites. The new lube skid is significantly lighter than its predecessor and is perfect for any company looking for a lubrication application that delivers contaminant-free liquids to their equipment without having to buy a full-service mobile lube truck.

The lube skid fits conveniently in the back of IMT Dominator mechanics truck and consists of tanks with hose reels to top off equipment fluids. One of the standout features of the new lube skid is that it has patent-pending polyethylene tanks, which are 80 percent lighter than equivalent-sized steel tanks. Poly tanks also are designed not to allow foreign materials – such as the rust that is so common with steel tanks – to contaminate the fluids, and the new tanks also have done away with welding, thus eliminating stress points that can lead to leaks. In addition, polyethylene offers UV protection, reduces tank condensation and is proven to be impact-resistant.

Lube skids have a capacity of 220 gallons split among 55-gallon tanks that come in eight possible configurations, all of which contain four tanks in various combinations of an oil system, an anti-freeze system, and an oil salvage system. The pumping mechanism is adjusted based on how the tanks are being used.
