Kris Dahl to succeed Terry Dolan as head of CNH Construction's North America Commercial business

Kris Dahl, an industry veteran with decades of experience leading successful construction brands, has been selected as Terry Dolan's successor for North America Commercial business at CNH Construction. Dolan plans to retire at the end of 2026; until then, Dahl will work alongside and learn from Dolan during a transition period. 

Dahl brings 25 years of global experience spanning commercial leadership, operations, technology, and product development in the heavy equipment industry. He joins CNH and the CASE Construction Equipment and New Holland Construction brands from Caterpillar, where his career included leadership roles in the U.S. and Asia, along with extensive work with customers, dealers, and teams across global construction and mining markets.

Terry Dolan retires after many successful years as an industry leader 

Dolan's retirement will conclude a distinguished career in the construction equipment industry and a tenure at CNH marked by significant product innovation, strengthened dealer and customer relationships, and a renewed vision for one of the industry's most iconic brands.

Since rejoining CNH and the CASE brand in 2021, Dolan has played a key role in strengthening the brand and supporting its dealer network across North America. In January 2025, his responsibilities expanded to include leadership of both CASE and New Holland Construction (NHCE). Under his leadership, NHCE has continued to expand its North American presence, adding several new dealers and locations to broaden the brand's reach and provide customers with greater access to equipment, parts, service, and support. His leadership across both brands reflects a continued focus on building strong dealer relationships, expanding market coverage, and positioning CASE and NHCE for long-term growth.

Among the product innovations introduced during this period was the CASE Minotaur DL550 compact dozer loader, a first-of-its-kind machine that combined compact track loader and dozer capabilities. CASE also expanded into subcompact equipment and continued development of its electric equipment portfolio, part of what Dolan characterized as applying the speed and agility of a startup to a company with generations of experience. 

"CNH has been an important part of my career for many years, so making the decision to retire at the end of this year is certainly bittersweet," said Dolan. "When I returned to CNH in 2021, I talked about my excitement for helping lead this business into its next generation, and I'm incredibly proud of what this team has accomplished together. We've introduced groundbreaking products, strengthened our dealer network, and continued to find new ways to help our customers succeed. Most importantly, we've done it with the passion, ingenuity, and determination that have defined CASE and New Holland Construction for generations. I'm grateful to have been part of that journey, and I have tremendous confidence in Kris and in what's ahead for CNH Construction."

With decades of experience, Dahl brings a new perspective with trusted results 

Dahl brings a combination of commercial, operational, and technical experience to CNH, with a career that has included leadership assignments across multiple markets and geographies. His background spans customer and dealer engagement, business growth, technology and equipment development, giving him a broad perspective on both the machines contractors depend on and the evolving needs of the businesses that operate them.

Dahl joined CNH on September 14, 2026, and will transition to the leadership position effective October 1. Dolan will help with Dahl's onboarding and will continue with CNH until December 30, working to support his successor and other key initiatives.

The leadership transition comes as CASE prepares to celebrate its 185th anniversary in 2027, carrying forward a legacy of practical innovation while continuing to invest in equipment, technology, and support designed around the evolving needs of contractors and equipment owners.
