Terramac's largest rotating crawler carrier delivers 15-ton capacity
The RT15R is quieter, easier to service, and has better visibility than its predecessor

Terramac has released the next evolution in its rotating crawler carrier line, the RT15R. This new model is designed to maximize productivity and streamline on-site maintenance. Succeeding the RT14R, the new RT15R offers increased performance and a suite of operator-focused upgrades.
Increased payload capacity and streamlined serviceability
The RT15R features a 30,000-pound (15-ton) carrying capacity, a 2,000-pound increase over its predecessor. This additional ton of payload allows contractors in the utility, pipeline, and general construction industries to move more material per trip, significantly increasing job site efficiency.
Beyond payload, the RT15R has been engineered to maximize operational uptime through streamlined machine logistics. Terramac has optimized fuel, lubrication, and daily service checkpoints to ensure that maintenance is quick and intuitive. Furthermore, the machine operates with a quieter profile, reducing site noise, and incorporates advanced systems that simplify engine management, allowing contractors to focus on meeting deadlines rather than complex maintenance demands.
Recognizing that operators often endure long, demanding shifts, Terramac prioritizes cab comfort and safety. The RT15R features several upgrades, including an enlarged control panel and enhanced climate control systems. Visibility is significantly improved by replacing the exterior crusher screen with a thicker, more durable windshield. Safety enhancements are equally comprehensive, including additional, longer access steps for easier entry, expanded operator alerts, and a fire extinguisher, among other protective features.
Key features of the RT15R include:
- Improved efficiency: The RT15R is engineered to meet emissions standards with an EGR-free engine, offering simple and more efficient operation, reducing operating costs and simplifying refueling logistics.
- Enhanced serviceability: Maintenance is streamlined with all daily service points accessible from the ground level. The updated design ensures that routine checks can be performed quickly, maximizing uptime.
- Advanced operator comfort: The cab has been redesigned for the modern operator, featuring a larger touchscreen control display with intuitive navigation. Enhanced ergonomics and cabin amenities provide a more comfortable environment for long shifts.
- 360-degree rotation: Like its predecessor, the RT15R's rotating upper structure makes it easy to offload materials at any angle, reducing environmental impact and improving safety in tight workspaces.
"Terramac is committed to listening to the needs of our dealers and end-users, and the RT15R is a product of the feedback we've received," said Matt Slater, Terramac president. "By increasing the payload, simplifying aftertreatment technology, and improving operator comforts, we are providing a machine that works harder and is easier to operate and manage."
