Forty years ago, in a small garage in Finland, a young engineer, Reijo Karppinen, began manufacturing hydraulic generators. His vision was to transform the machinery world in an unprecedented way, and he pursued this goal with ambition and determination — marking the beginning of DYNASET Oy. 

Today, Dynaset continues to manufacture hydraulic generators, power washers, and compressors. Following the path laid out by Reijo, this family-owned Finnish company has designed and manufactured technological innovations to increase the productivity of its customers' machinery for four decades.

Dynaset now employs a total of 130 people, not only at its factory in Finland but also in Canada, Germany, India, China, and Australia. Over the decades, the company's offering has expanded to a range of over 40 products used worldwide across various industries, from construction to rescue services and the process industry. 

Dynaset keeps pace with modern power needs 

Although the world has changed at an accelerating pace, Dynaset has managed to maintain its pioneering position in the industry over the years. 

How has this been achieved?

The most significant factors are its unique DYNASET Technology and a customer-oriented approach. Strong expertise in machinery, combined with the ability to seamlessly integrate products with different machine brands, has made it possible to create unique solutions based on customer needs.

Quality engineering expertise has also played a major role in the company's success. Since its founding, the products have been designed and manufactured in Finland. Carefully selected subcontractors, components, and materials ensure high quality. Each product is also tested before being sent out for real-world use, guaranteeing reliable performance.

In addition to new technology, a focus on customer satisfaction and quality, and the courage to experiment and create new solutions have driven the company forward. Courage is one of Dynaset's core values, with roots going back to its early years when Reijo began developing products boldly and without prejudice. A good example of such bold innovation is the company's expansion into the electrifying machinery sector.

The company continues to make significant steps toward future-proofing its designs 

The year 2025 will remain in DYNASET Oy's history as one of the most significant. Known until then for its slogan, 'Powered by Hydraulics', and having manufactured hydraulic attachments for 39 years, the company took a major step in its product development by launching a new generation of electrical product family. Hydraulics were not abandoned. Instead, electrical products were introduced alongside them to meet the needs of an evolving machinery world. At the same time, the new slogan 'Partner of Your Machine' was adopted, which emphasizes partnership and customer focus as well as the reliability of products and services.

Looking ahead to the next 40 years of innovation

Dynaset's future looks at how it can continue to support manufacturers and contractors. The company closely monitors the evolving machinery industry and customer base to serve their needs. It responds to growing demand through further development of its current products and new innovations.

Naturally, production facilities must also meet demand. Dynaset's factory has been located at the same address since 2001, although it has undergone several expansions and improvements over the years. Automation and robotics have already been introduced to enhance production processes, and they are recognized within the company as key enablers of future growth.

A few years ago, Reijo passed the torch forward, and his daughter Anni became CEO. His son Atte is also strongly involved, working as Dynaset's after-sales manager and participating in management and board activities. The company has remained family-owned, which is seen as a strength, and the intention is to continue this as long as it serves the company and its employees.

"Of course, I hope that Dynaset will remain a family business for the next forty years and beyond. However, it must be acknowledged that all such decisions must be made based on what is best for DYNASET Oy, considering both employees and customers. I strongly believe that family entrepreneurship is the best solution," reflects founder Reijo Karppinen.

"I hope that in the future we will be seen as the best partner for machine contractors, the first one to contact when they need more productivity from existing equipment. Our goal is also to be a stable and desirable employer that can grow its workforce and create new jobs," says after-sales manager, Atte Karppinen.

"We want to be a good partner to our customers, our other stakeholders, and our personnel," concludes CEO Anni Karppinen.
