CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 fundraiser demonstrated the industry's continued commitment to suicide prevention
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention shared essential resources to support mental health in construction

CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 strengthened its commitment to supporting mental health in the construction industry through a successful partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), raising over $112,000 to support suicide prevention and mental health awareness initiatives.
Throughout the week, the partnership brought attention to the importance of mental health and wellness in construction through educational programming, onsite engagement, and a dedicated wellness space for attendees.
The Ground Breakers Stage offered a key opportunity to share suicide prevention awareness at the convention
A key moment of the collaboration took place on the Ground Breakers Stage, where Christine Yu Moutier with AFSP discussed the growing focus on mental health in construction and the importance of creating supportive workplaces. The session highlighted the role employers, co-workers and industry organizations can play in reducing stigma and ensuring workers have access to the resources they need.
Attendees were also able to engage directly with AFSP through a dedicated booth on the show floor, where representatives shared information on suicide prevention programs, industry resources, and ways companies can support mental health initiatives within their organizations.
In addition, the show featured a Wellness Lounge, providing a quiet space where attendees could step away from the busy show floor, recharge, and access information about mental health resources available to the construction community.
Ways to support the AFSP mission
Funds raised will support AFSP's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide through research, education, advocacy, and support for those impacted by suicide. Donations are still being accepted here.
"The construction industry is built on people, and supporting their well-being is essential to the future of our workforce," said Dana Wuesthoff, show director for CONEXPO-CON/AGG. "Our partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention helped bring important conversations about mental health to the forefront while also providing meaningful resources for the men and women who power this industry every day."
