First Hitachi business to carry the LANDCROS name will focus on R&D

Hitachi Construction Machinery, which will rebrand as LANDCROS in 2027, is establishing LANDCROS Development Center Europe GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary, effective January 1, 2026, in Germany. This organization will focus on the R&D of battery-powered excavators, ICT-enabled products, and digital solutions.

Europe's leading approach to environmental regulation and advanced construction technology make it the ideal location for this dedicated R&D hub, which will develop solutions for customers worldwide, working alongside development centres in Japan and India.

This will be the first new company to bear the LANDCROS name since the brand transition was announced.

Since its establishment in 2018, KTEG GmbH ("KTEG"), a joint venture between Kiesel Technology GmbH (50.1 percent) and Hitachi Construction Machinery (49.9 percent), has developed battery-powered excavators, ICT products, and specialized applications for the European market. With the new strategic separation both organizations will focus on their respective areas while working collaboratively to serve the European market and beyond.

LANDCROS Development Center Europe will focus on developing next-generation battery-powered excavators, ICT-compatible products, and digital solutions aligned with Hitachi Construction Machinery's medium- to long-term global road map, while KTEG will concentrate its expertise on developing and marketing specialized application products tailored to European customer needs.
