MEC expands MAX Series lineup with telescopic boom featuring multi-directional jib
The 66-RJ diesel telescopic boom delivers 135-degree vertical rotation and 120-degree horizontal rotation

The 66-RJ diesel telescopic boom from MEC is a powerful addition to the MAX Series of MEC boom lifts that deliver performance for working at height. The 66-RJ is a contractor-ready machine engineered to perform versatile tasks at reach.
Features on the 66-RJ diesel telescopic boom lift
The standout feature of the 66-RJ is MEC's 6 ft (1.9 m) multi-directional jib, delivering 135 degrees of vertical articulation and 120 degrees of horizontal rotation, plus 180 degrees of platform rotation. This range of motion, coupled with extra capacity, allows operators to navigate around structural steel, framing, and other obstacles with precision, especially in complex or hard-to-reach areas. The ability to precisely position the platform with minimal chassis movement significantly reduces the need for frequent repositioning, maximizing uptime, improving productivity, and minimizing job site disruption.
The 66-RJ features a working height of 72 ft (22.2 m), 56 ft (17 m) of horizontal outreach, and a machine weight of 28,528 lb. (12,701 kg). Supporting a dual lift capacity of 900 lb. (408 kg) restricted and 600 lb. (272 kg) unrestricted, the 66-RJ accommodates tools, materials, and multiple operators across a wide working envelope. The integrated multi-directional jib maintains strength and stability even at full reach, allowing operators to work efficiently without sacrificing performance.
The 66-RJ is engineered for maneuverability and traction. It features 2-Wheel Steer, 4-Wheel "Round" Steer, and "Crab" Steering for side-angle movement, tight turning, and accurate machine positioning — ideal for navigating congested jobsites. The 4-wheel drive system with locking differential axles, a 7-degree oscillating axle, and foam-filled rough terrain tires delivers superior traction across uneven terrain and supports up to 45 percent gradeability. Combined with intuitive, industry-aligned control orientation, the 66-RJ gives operators full command of the machine from setup to final placement.
"The 66-RJ further demonstrates MEC's commitment to innovation and practical design," said Brian MacFarland, executive vice president of MEC. "It expands our boom offering with a full-featured solution ready for the most demanding construction and industrial job sites."
