Volvo launches its first wave of redesigned wheel loaders for material handling
The new generation starts with five models
After 70 years of creating wheel loader technology, Volvo CE has launched a new generation of machines engineered to enhance productivity and efficiency across a wide range of applications, including rehandling, material handling, quarrying, waste and recycling, and earthmoving.
The five redesigned models are the L150, L180, L200 High Lift, L220, and L260. Aside from a new design, the machines now feature faster cycle times and operator comfort. They are packed with intelligent solutions to help contractors maximize productivity and profitability.
Features on the new wheel loader generation
- Optimal productivity and fuel efficiency are enabled by new features like load sensing hydraulics, automatic bucket levelling, intelligent Auto Bucket Fill feature, and updated Smart Control.
- Operator comfort with a revamped cab and the introduction of the acclaimed Volvo Co-Pilot.
- Ease of service to ensure maximum uptime with a tilting cab, brake wear indicators located on the wheels, new service platform, and harness anchor points outside the cab.
- Safety features inside and out with new optional Volvo Smart View and the updated Collision Mitigation System, new handrails and steps, automatic door opening, and enhanced lighting.
Introduced across select markets
Buyers can get more out of their machines by pairing them with digital solutions like Load Assist with On-Board weighing for real-time load data, Operator Coaching, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The new Load Ticket solution is available to streamline invoicing for wheel loader operators by digitalizing the flow from the machine to the office, while Site Operations helps manage mixed-fleet job sites. Also, Volvo's CareTrack telematics system offers 24/7 monitoring to reduce repair costs and maximize uptime.
The new generation of wheel loaders will be gradually introduced across select markets globally during 2025.
