Komatsu expands regional mining support with new facility in Mesa, Arizona
$80 million investment will triple operational footprint across the Southwest US

Komatsu has officially broken ground on a new 215,000-square-foot sales and service facility in Mesa, Arizona, marking a major expansion of the company's presence in the Southwestern United States. The new site will nearly triple the size of Komatsu's current operations in the region and enhance its ability to support mining customers across the growing critical minerals sector.
The facility, located near the airport in southeast Mesa, represents an $80 million investment and is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2026. As demand for copper and other essential minerals continues to rise, the expanded footprint will allow Komatsu to scale its support and infrastructure to better align with industry needs.
Strategic expansion to meet industry and workforce demands
The Mesa development is expected to generate short-term construction employment while also creating up to 100 new long-term jobs in its first years of operation. In collaboration with local stakeholders, including the Arizona Commerce Authority and the City of Mesa, the project underscores the region's role as a strategic hub for mining activity and economic development.
Komatsu's expansion in Mesa reflects its broader strategy of aligning operational capacity with customer demand, particularly in regions playing a central role in mineral extraction and infrastructure development. Once operational, the new facility will bolster equipment support, service capabilities, and supply chain efficiency for Komatsu's mining partners throughout the Southwest.
