CM Labs Simulations launched the addition of walkaround inspection training to its Motor Grader and Articulated Dump Truck Simulator Training Packs.

The walkaround inspection exercises are designed to help trainees quickly and effectively learn how to perform inspections. By offering tips and educational information at inspection points, exercises help trainees complete lessons independently and under the supervision of an instructor. In addition, CM Labs' walkaround inspection training generates equipment malfunctions and breaks at random to expose trainees to a wide variety of real-world issues.

The walkaround inspection simulator is now available on Intellia Training Packs for the motor grader, articulated dump truck, mini excavator, backhoe, dozer, tracked excavator, wheeled excavator, and wheel loader.

Simulations focus training for heavy equipment operators

"At CM Labs, our focus is on providing the most comprehensive simulation training on the market," said Lisa Barbieri, VP of marketing and strategic partnerships. "Adding walkaround inspection training to the Motor Grader and Articulated Dump Truck Training Packs allows our clients to train operators on this crucial task without having to pull equipment from the field. But more than that, it allows trainees to gain concentrated practice quickly, making operations safer and more efficient. With one simulation training system, contractors gain a complete training solution."

"Malfunctions and breaks don't happen often, but when they do, you want your operators to be able to spot them," said Alan Limoges, manager of product growth and partnerships. "Our exercises introduce malfunctions into the inspection at random, which teaches operators to remain vigilant. Also, by simply completing the walkaround inspection, they learn the various components of the machine, what each component looks like, and what they do."
