Updated compact wheel loaders from Volvo Construction Equipment include operator-focused improvements that build on the success of previous models.

The L30 and L35 compact wheel loaders have faster work cycles as well as improved maneuverability, tractive force, and performance compared to previous versions. This makes the loaders more efficient for handling either bucket or fork payloads.

Operators will be able to see the job site better thanks to improved visibility; an even greater range of sight is available to the front and sides, thanks to a slimmer dashboard. In addition, controls are simpler, with more intuitive functions and a larger display navigated by a jog wheel. A more ergonomic multi-function joystick is also new.

A unique feature for loaders of this size is an advanced boom kick-out and bucket leveler option with boundary limits that can automatically lift and tilt the bucket to pre-programmed positions. Not only does this help experienced operators ensure precise repetitive movement with less fatigue, but it also helps less experienced operators carry out speedier loader cycles.

An electro-hydraulic main control valve enhances flow sharing among hydraulic functions. An optional adjustable boom and tilt function allows the operator to set the flow of those functions with the jog wheel and display, providing customized flows for specialty buckets or attachments. Independent hydraulic pumps provide simultaneous lifting and steering at speed.

On the boom, the L30 and L35 feature an eight-pin harness on the boom that can be activated by a button on the joystick. A wider range of attachments can be used without requiring additional wiring, adding convenience.

The Volvo cab itself remains comfortable, with adjustable steering column, seat, and right armrest. Wheel chocks have been positioned further from the steps for ease of access.

Additional sensors are included on the L30 and L35 to monitor the engine and cooling performance. A standard reversible cooling fan is adjustable to handle dusty and high-debris conditions. The operator is informed of deviations in machine behaviour.

Ground-level access to service points and long service intervals are retained from the previous series of compact wheel loaders. Performance, speed, and versatility also remain from earlier models.
