Komatsu is expanding its ability to offer fleet management services to smaller and mid-sized mining, quarry, and contracting operations with the acquisition of iVolve.

The Australia-based iVolve provides fleet management services including its flagship Mine 4D. Its systems visualize operation management information, reduce running cost, and promote safe operations through access to real-time data.

iVolve has achieved optimal operation using its system at customer sites in both Australia and North America.

Komatsu has been supporting the need for safe and productive field operations for construction and mining by introducing fleet management solutions developed by its wholly-owned subsidiary Modular Mining Systems for large-scale mines, and Smart Construction, an ICT construction solution, for the construction and civil engineering industry. With this acquisition, Komatsu will deploy iVolve's solution, which has a unique platform, as a new approach for further contributing to safety and productivity on customer work sites.

iVolve will continue to provide services as an independent group company, with the aim of becoming the world's leading FMS provider in the construction and mining equipment market by capturing new business opportunities through the Komatsu network.
