This week was full of business acquisitions. Trimble sold LOADRITE, SECO, and several other businesses to The Jordan Company while Metso Outotec has acquired mobile crushing equipment manufacturer Tesab Engineering. Trimble divests LOADRITE, SECO, and other businesses to The Jordan Company
Trimble has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Time and Frequency, LOADRITE, Spectra Precision Tools, and SECO accessories businesses to Precisional LLC, an affiliate of The Jordan Company. The divestiture is in line with Trimble's strategy to focus on areas core to its long-term growth and strategic product road map. The transaction is subject to a number of customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Tadano to develop new zero-emission electric rough-terrain crane
As a next step in achieving Tadano's environmental targets, Tadano plans to commercialize what the company says is the world's first electric rough-terrain crane. Currently in development, the crane will be able to drive to the job site and complete all lifting operations using battery electricity, rather than diesel power to deliver zero-emissions operation. The rough-terrain crane's electric motor will emit lower noise when operating, offering advantages for customers when working in congested urban areas with noise ordinances, completing lift projects at night, and operating indoors.

Tigercat expands grapple attachment line for loggers, loaders, and shovel loggers
Tigercat has expanded its line of grapple attachments in an effort to provide attachments that integrate with Tigercat loggers, loaders, and shovel loggers. The two new attachments are the BT08 butt-n-top and SC08 shovel clam grapples which are built with boxed-style steel jaws. Replaceable tine tips on the grapples are made from abrasion-resistant steel. Cushioned cylinders and a soft-start and stop slew hydraulic circuit prevent structural shock loads and promote extended grapple life.

Metso Outotec acquires mobile crushing equipment manufacturer Tesab Engineering
Metso Outotec has signed an agreement to acquire Tesab Engineering Ltd, a Northern Ireland-based company offering mobile crushing equipment for aggregates applications, including quarrying, recycling, asphalt, and concrete. With the acquisition, Metso Outotec will complement its current offering in the mobile crushing and screening markets. Tesab's product portfolio includes mobile jaw, impact, and cone crushers; mobile screens; scalpers; and stackers.

Daimler Truck and Torc Robotics collaborate with logistic companies on on-highway autonomous trucking
Daimler Truck and Torc Robotics are pushing ahead with the development of autonomous trucking in the United States where the companies have been testing on public roads. As a next step, Torc is now cooperating with U.S. logistics companies to further develop the applications for autonomous trucking. Daimler Truck and Torc want to make autonomous trucking a reality and plan to commercialize the technology within this decade.
