Liebherr Group has reported a strong start to the 2021 fiscal year.

The Liebherr Group has experienced a solid first half to 2021 financially, with revenue growth in key segments and a turnover increase of 13.4 percent compared to the previous year.

The company's various machinery segments - earthmoving, material handling, deep foundation machines, cranes, concrete and mining - showed growth of 16 percent through the first six months of the year, while other segments including maritime cranes, aerospace, and others, saw an increase of seven percent. Overall turnover reached 5.616 billion Euros for the period.

European and American markets led the way, the company reported, with significant revenue growth in those markets, while pandemic effects on markets in Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East continue to remain in effect.

Order intake improved across all product segments; the company states that it has never received so many orders within a half year, showing high international demand for Liebherr products and services.

Digitalization and moves towards alternative drives are key product highlights through the first half of 2021, with more movement in that area expected. On the construction side, Liebherr highlighted the MK 73-3.1 mobile construction crane, R 9600 hydraulic mining excavator, R 976-E and R 980 SME-E electric crawler excavators, all-electric truck mixers, and the LR 1250.1 unplugged battery-powered crawler crane as key developments on that end.

Current expectations are for Liebherr Group to achieve its second highest turnover in history by the end of 2021, slightly below the turnover of the year prior to the pandemic.
