Autocar introduces first DC-64D severe-duty conventional dump truck to Canadian market

Autocar Truck has introduced its first DC-64D severe-duty conventional dump truck to the Canadian market. The custom-engineered model joins Autocar's line of DC-64 vocational trucks, which are made for construction, concrete, refuse and recycling.

The premier model for the DC-64D line was configured for LMA LaPointe Construction in Quebec, with a SPIF-compliant 20k Simard twin steer suspension axle installed. This DC-64D also comes built on the DC-64 severe-duty Class 8 chassis for which the line is known.

Made to handle the hard jobs, the DC series cab is created with a combination of steel and carefully selected components, and then reinforced with aluminum corner castings. Autocar's DC-64 cab also features a wraparound windshield offering 325° of visibility, along with spacious cab workspace that lets drivers get the job done without sacrificing safety and comfort. Under the hood, each truck is fitted with a Cummins engine, delivering good fuel economy and a lower cost of operation. The series is also customized to fit the demands of a variety of businesses and applications.

"At Autocar, we don't believe in cookie-cutter products. Each truck is custom-engineered to meet the unique needs of our customers," said Eric Schwartz, president of Autocar Industries. "The DC-64 was built for the heavy-duty construction work LMA LaPointe Construction handles, so it makes for a great place to launch our new DC series dump truck."
