In a new addition to the electric vehicle landscape, Bollinger Motors has announced plans to produce the B2 Chassis Cab, what the company says is the world's first and only class 3 chassis cab truck platform.

The truck will be offered in two- or four-door cab designs and various wheelbase lengths, Bollinger announced, and is to be built on the patent-pending Bollinger E-Chassis all-wheel drive base already used for the B1 sport utility and B2 pickup.

"The Bollinger B2 Chassis Cab's unique features - including the 5,000-pound payload and large energy source to power tools - make it perfect for businesses, small and large," says CEO Robert Bollinger. "Commercial fleets will be able to reduce their overall cost of operation while buying a truck designed, engineered, and built in the USA. The B2CC is an ideal option for municipalities, parks services, emergency response vehicles, airports, construction, landscaping, electricians, plumbers, security, non-tactical military, and more."

Features of the B2 Chassis Cab will include a 120-kWh battery pack powering a dual motor system on an all-wheel drivetrain with all-terrain capabilities. It also will feature an ultra-low centre of gravity, hydro-pneumatic self-leveling suspension, independent front and rear suspension, a 10 kW onboard charger/inverter, and numerous others.

Bollinger expects to release the new chassis cab to commercial outfitters in late 2021.
