Cummins Inc. has introduced Zach Gillen as the new President, Cummins Sales and Service - Western Canada, effective February 16.

A 16-year Cummins employee, Gillen has served in various roles in the Power Generation Business segment, where he led teams in Generator Technologies, Emissions Solutions and Power Systems.

Currently, Gillen is the Executive Director, Global Mining Markets, where he completely revamped the global mining strategy, launched Cummins' Data-Enabled Mining Solution (DEMS), set sales records, and increased Cummins' mining global market share. Gillen's skill and knowledge will be very impactful in the Western Canada market, where roughly 40 percent of the customers Cummins serves are mining customers.

"I am excited to have Zach join Cummins Sales and Service North America (CSSNA)," said Jenny Bush, Vice President, Cummins North America Sales and Service. "Under Zach's leadership Cummins has become the global leader in the mining industry, and we are eager to have his expertise and talent available to our customers in Western Canada."

"Today, we are powering a world that is always on," said Gillen. "In the mining world, drills not moving equals lost productivity and money. So, it's our job to safely keep our customers' equipment on. Two of our core values are Excellence and Teamwork, and we have a world-class rebuild facility and hundreds of technicians serving miners to ensure we are upholding these values for our customers. I am very eager to serve our customers and the Western Canada community through our sales and service teams."

Gillen succeeds Charles Masters, who accepted a new position within Cummins in 2018. Gillen has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.
