Kenworth PACCAR MX-13 engine

The 12.9-litre PACCAR MX-13 engine is designed to meet the demands of linehaul and vocational heavy duty truck applications while providing industry-leading performance, reliability and fuel efficiency. The engine is available for Kenworth Class 8 models, including the Kenworth T660, T680, T700, T800 and W900.
The PACCAR MX-13 brochure features detailed engine horsepower, torque and governed rpm ratings. Charts show horsepower and torque ratings for the new engine from 380 to 500 hp and 1,450 to 1,850 lb-ft of peak torque at 1,000 rpm. With the high-end 500 horsepower and 1,850 lb-ft torque rating, the PACCAR MX-13 provides a lightweight, fuel-efficient engine option for customers in vocational applications, including logging, dumps and hauling applications over 100,000 lbs.
The new engine offers weight savings and provides improvements for easier serviceability. The brochure includes a detailed specifications list and filter maintenance intervals. The PACCAR MX-13 engine has a standard base warranty of 2 years or 250,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The PACCAR MX-13 was developed to meet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation requiring all model-year 2013 engines be equipped with On-Board Diagnostics (OBD). OBD is designed to monitor the performance of the vehicle’s emission system to help detect emission issues, recognize component faults, and ensure optimal performance.
The new engine utilizes the latest common rail, fuel-delivery technology, which enables injection pressures of up to 2,500 bar and significantly enhances fuel efficiency and performance. The common rail fuel system regulates the fuel in a central manifold, compressing only the amount of fuel mixture needed in cylinder. The result is finer fuel atomization and improved combustion efficiency, ensuring the lowest possible fuel consumption, emission and noise levels.
