New Earthworks for Dozers and tablet announced by Trimble

Trimble has announced the availability of Trimble Earthworks Grade Control System for Dozers and the Trimble T10 Tablet at the INTERMAT press days in Paris.

The Trimble Earthworks Grade Control System is Trimble's next-generation grade control platform for excavators and dozers. Reengineered from the ground up, the Trimble Earthworks Grade Control System features intuitive, easy-to-learn software that runs on an Android operating system. State-of-the-art software and hardware gives operators of all skill levels the ability to work faster and more productively than ever before.

The new Trimble Earthworks for Dozers Grade Control configuration mounts dual GNSS receivers on top of the cab to eliminate masts and cables traditionally located on the blade. The dual GNSS receivers are ideal for steep slope work and complex designs with tight tolerances. The new configuration keeps valuable receivers safer and can also save contractors time by reducing the time needed to remove and reinstall them each day.

The Trimble Earthworks grade control application is built on the Android operating system and runs on a 10-inch (25.7 centimeter) Trimble TD520 touch-screen display. Colorful graphics, natural interactions and gestures, and self-discovery features make the software intuitive and easy to learn. Earthworks also allows data files to be transferred to or from the office wirelessly and automatically so that the operator is always using the latest design.

The Trimble T10 Tablet is a rugged, high-performance data processing platform that brings the advantages of fast computing power and a large screen to the field. It is now available through the SITECH dealer channel for use in civil engineering and construction applications.

Features of the Trimble T10 Tablet include:
  • Military-grade ruggedness to withstand harsh conditions at a construction job site
  • 10.1-inch, sunlight readable display for reading text, graphics and complex maps under any field conditions
  • Multi-touch screen that works with a stylus, fingers or capacitive gloves
  • Compatible with Trimble SCS900 Site Controller Software and Trimble SitePulse software
  • Microsoft Windows 10 operating system

The Trimble T10 Tablet used with Trimble SCS900 Site Controller Software is ideal for field work including measuring and verifying ground levels and site features; computing progress and material stockpile volumes; monitoring and conducting quality control for earthworks and paving operations; synchronizing design and field data via the Internet; and more.

Field managers can use the Trimble T10 Tablet with SitePulse software for planning, site navigation and reporting tasks, and to increase communications between the field and office by connecting more people on the jobsite.
