Tesab 800i jaw crusher operator reports that it delivers lowest cost per ton
To get a first look at the new Tesab 800i heavy-duty jaw crusher, we turn to McCabe Earthworks Ltd, a company that pioneered mobile crushing services to the quarrying and mining industries in Ireland in the early 1990s. They are using the unit at a number of their locations across Ireland and the U.K. for crushing primary rock.
The Tesab 800i is based on the company’s proven 10580 model. It is available with an additional pre-screen that adds the ability to consistently produce in excess of 400 tons per hour.
John McCabe is delighted with the features of the new 800i jaw crusher and outlined the benefits it is bringing to his business.
“As well as improving overall capacity, the new 800i produces the lowest cost per ton on the market and creates a much cleaner product. In this particular application, the 800i is crushing primary rock which is then being fed into the Tesab 1200TC Cone Crusher; the result is an extremely high-quality aggregate.
“We have always been more concerned with a steady, continuous production rather than short, high peaks. With the 800i we are averaging 4,000 tons over 10 hours which shows visible results.”
Designed specifically for the quarry and contractor markets, the 800i features a large flywheel to generate high inertia, optimized extra-long ‘nip angle’ jaws ideally suited for hard rock applications, and a 1,200-mm-wide discharge belt which streamlines material flow, reduces wear and prevents blockages. It uses a T-175-IPS two-deck independent pre-screen and an 1,100- x 800-mm jaw crusher unit with overfill protection. It is available with either a Scania or Cat engine.
