RAM, Inc., has announced the dates and locations of its annual in-depth, two-and-a-half day fall Blasting and Explosives Safety Training (BEST) Course. Once again, the enhanced training sessions will be held at the South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City, S.D. Classes will be held from Wednesday, September 7 through Friday, September 9, 2016. Additionally, the 20 CE hours course will include an instructional tour of the Crazy Horse Memorial and sightseeing tours Deadwood and Mt. Rushmore.

The BEST Course is the premier continuing educational program for the advancement of safety and application of explosives. “Today, there is a growing recognition and culture of thinking and acting safely at work, so employees go home to their families every night uninjured,” says Robert McClure, president of RAM, Inc. and BEST course facilitator and instructor. “Our enhanced BEST Course is a great opportunity for companies to improve the recognition of hazardous situations and advance the safe use of explosives.”

Developed for all experience levels, the fall BEST Course is taught by instructors with decades of practical experience in their respective fields, educating attendees on explosives safety and application, hazard recognition, accident prevention, the latest on regulations, and new product introductions related to explosives and face profiling. More than a thousand industry professionals working with explosives from around the world have learned how to more safely apply explosives technology in the field through attending the BEST program.

Those completing the 2016 BEST Course receive:

  • Updated explosives regulations from BATFE, MSHA and the U.S. Department of Transportation
  • Comprehensive safety instructions for commercial explosives and blasting
  • Updates on electronic blasting systems and supporting technologies
  • 20 Continuing Education hours

The BEST Course is specifically designed for explosives engineers, drillers, field crews, safety personnel, D&B engineers and other industry professionals working with explosives. It assists attendees in complying with state and federal regulations. In addition to the 20 CE hours, each BEST Course attendee receives a course completion certificate and manual with valuable information that can be used in the field.
