Excavation efficiency: K-Tec scraper vs. excavator

A demo was held with Strongco in Grande Prairie, Alberta, where the K-Tec 1233 ADT series scraper was tasked with stripping topsoil with a mile round trip. According to Dave Wittenberg, scraper product specialist for K-Tec, this application demonstrated that the K-Tec and ADT earthmoving solution can efficiently perform the work of three different machines with just one operator and a single power-unit. This massive advantage provides fuel savings for the contractor, resulting in an environmentally-friendly and profitable earthmoving operation. The K-Tec and ADT solution accomplished about 75 percent of the work that two excavators, three dozers and five rock trucks did in the same time frame.
