Titan Tire Introduces TGS2 Snow Tire for Motor Graders

Titan Tire Corporation, a subsidiary of Titan International, Inc., has released the Titan TGS2, a new line of radial snow tires for motor graders. The TGS2 is specifically designed to perform in the harshest of plowing conditions and is available in both standard and low sidewall (LSW) sizes.

“We’ve seen an interest from municipalities and snow managers, especially those in Canada, for a tire that can plow through otherwise impassable roadways, and that’s exactly what the TGS2 is designed to do,” said Johni Francis, global product manager at Titan Tire Corporation. “Prior to the TGS2, there really weren’t many options in the market for a tire like this. We’ve taken it a step further and built a low sidewall version of the tire that also greatly improves breakout force and reduces vehicle bouncing.”

The TGS2 tread has an open-shoulder design with a full tread-depth across its surface, providing superior traction in snow, ice and mud. The siping on the lugs provides an additional biting edge that allows this rugged tire to perform where others would struggle.

The TGS2 is currently available in standard 14.00R24 and 17.5R25 sizes, as well as an LSW 17.5R31.5 size with a larger rim diameter that helps reduce the sidewall recoil that leads to vehicle bouncing. Additional standard and LSW sizes will soon be available.

Titan will have the TGS2 on display for the first time at the 2015 Annual Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) convention from March 9-12, 2015 in Prairieland Park, Saskatoon.
