The BM1300/30-2 cold planer milling machine

BOMAG’s BM1300/30-2 cold planer milling machine features a centrally mounted cutting drum that allows precise milling next to walls, curbs and other obstructions. Highly versatile and easy to operate, the BM1300/30-2 is ideally suited for utility and general surface milling, and shoulder repair applications.

The BM1300/30-2 offers a standard cutting width of 51.2 inches. It is powered by 275-horsepower Caterpillar diesel engine and offers a high horsepower-per-cutting-tooth delivery ratio for maximum productivity and efficiency. Additionally, the direct mechanical drive design of the cutting drum provides maximum power transfer while reducing any external losses. The unit is capable of milling depths up to 12.6 inches.

The BM1300/30-2’s centrally mounted cutting drum eliminates the need to move the right rear track away from the cut line, which provides the machine with improved overall balance. Compared with competitive units, the BM1300/30-2’s centrally positioned drum makes it possible to use a much shorter take-off belt, resulting in lower maintenance costs and more uptime.

Featuring a centrally located “over-the-cut” operator’s position, the BM1300/30-2 offers exceptional jobsite visibility. Furthermore, the operator’s seat can slide out over the right edge of the machine, offering excellent visibility of the cutting drum’s leading edge and the line or curb to be followed during the cut. User-friendly controls make the mill easy to operate either via the operator’s station or from ground level with remote-mount controls.

The front-loading conveyor swings 36 degrees to the right or left of center for ease of loading, and folds for simple transport to and from the job site. With the conveyor folded, the unit can be hauled using any standard configuration, 25-ton capacity single-drop or ramped trailer.

Four-track stability with standard polyurethane wear pads and independent or coordinated front and rear steering provide optimum travel performance. For fast, on-the-jobsite maintenance, the BM1300/30-2 features quick-change cutting teeth and holders.

Optional equipment includes water fill and high-pressure wash-down systems, an electrical diesel pump for refueling, a compressed air system, and a hydraulically folding operator’s station canopy complete with front and rear windscreens.
